Benefits

The Grandparents receive many benefits from the Foster Grandparent Program. Perhaps the greatest is the sense of accomplishment and sense of worth they receive for providing love and care to a special child, and the love they receive in return for their child.

Others benefits include a tax-free $2.65 per hour stipend, which cannot be counted as income or be used to affect any other benefits the Grandparents are receiving. Grandparents will receive reimbursement for their transportation cost and a daily meal at their volunteer stations (if applicable). They are covered by accident and liability Insurance, including excess auto insurance if they drive their own cars. A physical examination is given annually. There is a yearly recognition for the Foster Grandparents.
