Meals on Wheels is a service designed to help seniors maintain their independence as they face financial, physical, or emotional hardships. A hot meal designed to meet one-third of the daily requirements for senior nutrition is delivered to the homes of seniors who, due to frail health, are unable to shop and/or cook for themselves. In addition to the nutritional benefit, this program provides a yearly wellness check for seniors. Luncheon Meals are delivered Monday through Friday by the CCOA Nutrition Department. There are two programs available: Meals on Wheels funded through the Older American Act (Funded Meal Program) Although there is no charge to the customer, donations are requested for this program. Suggested donations per meal are One to Seven Dollars per week.  There can be a waiting list for this service, which is prioritized according to urgency of need. Clients needing meals immediately have the opportunity to purchase these meals for a minimal charge through our Paid Meals Program. $2.75 Meals on Wheels (Paid Meals Program) There is a $2.75 per meal charge for this service. Billing could be arranged directly to the client, or to a relative or friend. There is currently no waiting list for this program. Menus There is such a need in the community for this service. Not only is the meal essential to the senior, but also the daily contact of senior with the meal driver is so vital to their well being.
